1. Device Overview

Panosol® 6 and Panosol® 6-3D are vertical, full-body UV phototherapy devices for clinic or home use (per prescription). Models may be configured with different lamp types within the UV spectrum. Units ship with a Digital Timer (DT) controller for time-based treatments.

Always follow your physician’s protocol; devices may differ from images depending on configuration.

2. Indications for Use

For the treatment of diagnosed skin disorders such as psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis (eczema) under a physician’s direction (pediatric through geriatric patients when operated by a responsible adult).

3. Warnings & Safety

  • Prescription use only. Operate only as directed by a licensed physician.
  • Mandatory eye protection: patient and anyone in view must wear UV-blocking goggles/glasses; for PUVA, protect eyes from sunlight for 24 hours after psoralens.
  • Shield uninvolved skin (clothing or SPF ≥30) and stand centered 6–8″ from the center panel during treatment.
  • UV hazard: Overexposure can cause burns and serious eye injury; some drugs/cosmetics increase photosensitivity.
  • Keep pets/others out of the room; verify cords, plugs, and lamps are undamaged before each use.
  • Electrical safety: Connect only to a properly grounded supply; disconnect power before cleaning or service; do not modify the device.

4. Site, Power & Assembly

  • Location: Dry area, away from water and foot traffic; protect from children; expect UV to fade fabrics over time.
  • Electrical (US/CA): Standard grounded outlet on a non-GFCI/RCD breaker; device includes onboard fuse.
  • Unpacking & Assembly (summary): Two-person lift; attach feet and stabilizer brackets; install grid (if applicable); insert the “D”-shaped plug into the rear receptacle; then plug into wall outlet. Follow detailed steps in the manual for mounting feet/brackets.
  • Lamp check: Verify prescribed lamp type(s) are installed (code at lamp base).

Severe erythemaHold until resolved; resume at half of original initial time

Missed days: 8–11 repeat previous; 12–14 subtract two treatment-steps; ≥15 restart.

Maintenance (step-down): After ≥95% clear, reduce frequency gradually per a step-down strategy (e.g., 3×/wk → 2×/wk → weekly → every other week), or stop per physician instruction.

C. Vitiligo

  • Treat vitiligo patches as Skin Type I.
  • Begin: 0:43; if no erythema after 24 hrs, increase by +5 s. If mild pinkening → repeat; if severe erythema → reduce by 25% and increase again only after resolved.
  • Maintenance: typically begins at ~75% re-pigmentation; maintain same time but reduce frequency step-wise (weekly → every other week, etc.).

7. Cleaning, Maintenance & Lamps

  • Routine: Dust unit and lamps monthly; perform a full internal clean (reflectors/lamps behind grid) annually.
  • Low-level disinfection (between uses): Monk® wipes per label or 70% isopropyl alcohol with 3-minute contact; air-dry and re-clean if needed.
  • High-level disinfection (between different patients): Use an FDA-cleared HLD (e.g., Resert® XL-HLD) per manufacturer’s IFU.
  • Lamp life (typical): UVB ~300 h; UVA ~500 h (environment dependent). Replace all lamps together; contact support for output effects and lamp-hour reset steps.

8. Troubleshooting & Refills

  • Won’t unlock? Use key code 0007 (▲ until 0007 → PLAY/PAUSE).
  • Refill needed? When exposures are nearly depleted the display flashes the remaining count; when empty it shows CXXX. Retrieve CXXX (see steps above) and obtain a four-digit Treatment Code from your prescriber.
  • Power loss mid-treatment: elapsed time not remembered; the unit may deduct one exposure.
