Daavlin 7 Series Phototherapy

1. Device Overview

The Daavlin 7 Series is a home phototherapy cabinet available with UVA or UVB lamps. This guide covers use with both controller types: Digital Timer and Integrated Dosimetry. Always use only as directed by a physician.

2. Indications for Use

Intended for the treatment of diagnosed photoresponsive skin disorders such as psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis (eczema) under physician direction.

3. Warnings & Safety

  • Prescription Use Only. Treatments must be physician-directed.
  • Always wear UV-blocking goggles during treatment; ensure all others leave the room.
  • Protect untreated skin with clothing or SPF 30+ sunscreen. Ask your doctor about previously sun-protected areas.
  • Distance: Treat at ~9 in (23 cm) from the lamps; do not stand closer.
  • Never treat burned/irritated skin until fully healed; reduce dose/time after any burn.
  • Keep dry; do not use near water. Unplug before cleaning or service.
  • Ultraviolet Radiation Hazard: Overexposure can cause serious eye injury and burns.
  • Pets/people not being treated must leave the area.

4. Delivery, Site & Setup

  1. Inspect shipment for damage and keep packing if issues arise.
  2. Select site: Grounded outlet, dry area away from traffic and children.
  3. Unpack & assemble: Attach feet and stabilizer brackets; install grid; plug in power cord.
  4. Lamp check: Verify the prescribed lamp type (Narrowband UVB, Broadband UVB, or UVA) is installed.

Tip: Mark the floor at 9" (23 cm) from the lamps to keep correct distance.

  • Default unlock code: 0007 (press ▲ seven times, then ENTER).
  • FlexRx™ (if equipped): A counter on screen shows remaining exposures. Contact your provider for a refill code when needed.

7. Cleaning, Calibration & Lamp Care

  • Cleaning: Unplug first. Wipe plastic/reflectors with non‑abrasive disinfecting wipes. Avoid paper towels on reflectors.
  • Calibration / Power Output:
    • Dosi units: Verify/adjust with an approved meter at least annually and whenever lamps are replaced.
    • Timer units: Measure output with a meter every 100 hours and after lamp changes to keep time charts accurate.
  • Lamp replacement: Replace all UVB lamps as a set to avoid uneven treatments; typical life ~300 hours UVB / ~500 hours UVA (varies).
  • Storage: Keep device dry; avoid impacts to glass lamps and touchscreen/keypad.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No power / won’t start: Check outlet and power cord; verify fuses; ensure safety code is unlocked.
  • Lamps not lighting: Confirm correct lamp type is installed; check for blown lamps; contact support before replacing.
  • Treatment ends early (Dosi): Backup time too short or sensor obstructed; recheck output and adjust backup time.
  • Overheated or long use: Allow cabinet to cool; follow physician guidance before resuming.

9. Warranty & Support

  • Standard warranty: Typically 1 year device; lamps covered separately. Keep serial number handy.
