Daavlin 3 Series NeoLux

1. Device Overview

The 3 Series NeoLux™ is a full-body UV phototherapy cabinet available with SmartTouch™ PC control or ClearLink™ timer control (some units include both with a key-switch to select). Integrating dosimetry monitors lamp output so the system can automatically end treatments when the prescribed energy has been delivered.

2. Indications for Use

Intended for the treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis (eczema) on all skin types I–VI, under a physician’s direction.

3. Warnings & Safety

  • Prescription use only. Operate only by or under the direction of trained personnel.
  • Eye protection is mandatory: Patients wear tightly-fitting UV-blocking goggles; operators wear UV-blocking glasses whenever in the room during operation.
  • UV hazard: Follow protocols; overexposure can cause burns and serious eye injury.
  • Do not use near water or where liquids may splash. Disconnect power before servicing.
  • Keep area clear of children and unintended users.

Ocular hazard distance: 3 m (9.84 ft). Recommended ambient luminance: 250–500 lux.

4. Site & Electrical

  • Electrical: 400 VAC 10A 3ϕ / 200–240 VAC 1/2ϕ 20A, 50/60 Hz. NeoLux is a fixed device hard-wired to a junction box (installed per code by a qualified electrician).
  • Grounding: Must be connected to protective earth.
  • Room: Cool, clean space with ventilation; cabinet includes top fans. Provide exhaust above the unit and adequate make-up air (e.g., louvered door).
  • Operating conditions: 15–30 °C; 10–95% RH (non-condensing); IPX0 (no water ingress protection).

5. Operating Instructions

Before every treatment: verify device condition; confirm patient identity; review protocol; ensure goggles are on; shield uninvolved skin as required. If your unit has both controllers, use the key switch on the right-side access panel to choose PC (SmartTouch) or Timer (ClearLink).

5A. SmartTouch™ (PC) Controller

Login & Users

  • Default user ID Admin with default password daavlin (change on first login).
  • User profiles: Admin, Supervisor, Operator — assign privileges according to training.

Patient Setup & Selection

  1. From Main Menu → Add New Patient. Enter PIN, name, birthdate, language/voice, Skin Type, and Treatment Type (UVA, UVB, or Combination). MED (for NB-UVB) and schedule set per clinic protocol.
  2. To treat, choose Select Patient, highlight the patient, and proceed to treatment screen.

Treating a Patient

  1. System suggests the next dose from the assigned protocol (operator may adjust if authorized).
  2. Confirm dose/time; instruct patient; start lamps from the on-screen control or internal button box.
  3. Pause/Resume/Cancel available; secondary treatments can be added for localized areas.

Protocols (How They Work)

  • UVA: absolute-value dosing; secondaries typically ~50% of primary (depends on skin type/schedule).
  • Narrowband UVB: percentage-based off MED (e.g., first dose often 70% MED for many skin types); subsequent doses increase by set percentages. “As Required” protocol allows manual entry when authorized.

Safety Prompts & Authorizations

The software warns (or requires an authorization PIN) when edits exceed allowed step changes or when time since last treatment is outside configured limits.

Fans

Operator can toggle cabinet fans in SmartTouch; patients can use the blue fan button on the internal button box.

Backups & Recovery

  • Use the included USB utility to Backup/Restore the database (recommended daily).
  • If equipped with a backup timer, power down, turn the key switch from PC → Timer, then power up to operate with ClearLink.

6. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Routine: Wipe exterior with non-abrasive cloth and mild detergent.
  • Low-level disinfection (between uses): 70% isopropyl alcohol (3 min contact) or approved wipes; clean patient-contact surfaces, handles, platform, goggles.
  • High-level (between different patients): Use an FDA-cleared high-level disinfectant per manufacturer’s directions.
  • Calibration: every 100 hours or annually.
  • Lamp replacement (typical): UVB ~300 hours; UVA ~500 hours (actual life varies).
  • Fan filters: clean annually with unit calibration.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Won’t unlock? Use PIN 0007 (press “7” then Enter); if code was changed/disabled, contact Daavlin Service.
  • Lamps won’t start? Confirm controller mode (key switch), door closed, dose/time set, goggles on prompts acknowledged.
  • Treatment ends early? Backup time may have elapsed; verify dose, output calibration, and room temperature.
  • Need history? Insert USB → Export Data on ClearLink or use SmartTouch report/export tools.

8. Warranty & Support

  • Limited warranty coverage and service terms are included in the manual.
