3. Indications for Use

For the treatment of diagnosed skin disorders such as psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis (eczema) under physician direction. Suitable from pediatric through geriatric populations.

4. Warnings & Safety

  • Prescription Use Only. Treatments must be supervised by a licensed physician.
  • Always wear UV‑blocking goggles for anyone in view of the device.
  • Protect untreated skin (e.g., sunscreen SPF 30+ on areas not being treated).
  • Do not treat over burns/eruptions or if experiencing unresolved erythema.
  • Typical thermal duty cycle: ~10 minutes on / 10 minutes off for very long sessions.
  • Keep people and pets out of the treatment area. Avoid water and damaged cords.

5. Setup & Assembly

  1. Site: Dry, ventilated area; near grounded outlet; away from traffic/water.
  2. Unpack: Remove device and accessories. Connect the “D”-shaped power plug, then plug into a grounded outlet.
  3. Optional: Install swivel stand per its instructions (if purchased).
  4. Verify lamps: Confirm lamp type matches prescription (UVA, UVA‑1, NB‑UVB, BB‑UVB, Blue).

6. Positioning & Treatment Distance

Select one of two distances before treating:

  • 0 in (on acrylic): Higher intensity; used for hands/feet resting on the guard.
  • 9 in (23 cm): For larger areas with the device upright and body 9 in away.

Use the distance consistently with the prescription; switching distances changes treatment time.

8. Operating – Digital Timer (DT)

  1. Unlock with key code (see next section).
  2. Display shows 00:00 with rightmost digit flashing.
  3. Use to change the flashing digit; use to move left.
  4. Press Play/Pause to lock in the time, then press again to start (pause/resume with the same key).
  5. After completion, the controller flashes the last treatment in Standby; press Play/Pause twice to repeat.

Example: To enter 01:23 → ▲×3 → ◀ then ▲×2 → ◀ then ▲×1 → Play/Pause → Play/Pause.

Routine Care

  • Clean patient-contact surfaces between each treatment.
  • Dust unit and lamps monthly; clean behind acrylic and reflectors annually.
  • Replace lamps: UVB ~300 hrs; UVA/Blue ~500 hrs (environment dependent).

Cleaning & Disinfection

  • General: Non‑abrasive cloth + mild soap (no paper towels on reflective surfaces).
  • Low‑level: Monk™ wipes (per label) or 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (3 min contact).
  • High‑level (between different patients): Use an FDA‑cleared high‑level disinfectant (e.g., Resert XL‑HLD) per manufacturer.

Lamp Replacement (summary)

  1. Unplug. Remove two side screws; lift top cover.
  2. Remove clear plastic clasps; press red socket button; lift lamp out with two hands.
  3. Seat new lamps firmly (audible snap). Replace all lamps as a set; then reset lamp hours to 0.

Calibration (ClearLink Guided/Dosimetric)

Maintain calibration annually or every 100 hours and when lamps change; the integrating dosimeter targets ±5% timer accuracy and ±10% sensor accuracy.

12. Troubleshooting

  • Lamps won't ignite: Confirm unlock, mode/time set, goggles on, and power; if still failing, contact support.
  • Unexpected lock (“Still red/pain”): Skip one treatment to clear (Guided mode safety).
  • Power loss mid‑treatment: ClearLink remembers elapsed time (lamps remain off until resumed). DT does not; restart per prescription.
  • Overheating/discomfort: Use 10‑on/10‑off duty cycle for long sessions; allow cool‑down.
  • FlexRx exhausted: Follow refill steps in Section 10.
