Daavlin M Series with ClearLink Controller

1. Device Overview

The Daavlin M Series is a tabletop phototherapy cabinet for hands, feet, and elbows. It can be prescribed with either the ClearLink™ Home-Control (touchscreen) or the Digital Timer keypad controller. Combination UVA/UVB configurations are available; on combination units the front lamps are UVA and the rear lamps are UVB, with the hood always UVA.

2. Indications for Use

Indicated for physician-directed treatment of diagnosed photoresponsive skin disorders such as psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis (eczema) across pediatric through geriatric populations.

3. Warnings & Safety

  • Prescription use only. Follow your physician’s protocol.
  • Always wear UV-blocking goggles (100% UVA/UVB) for anyone in view of the lamps.
  • For PUVA (psoralens + UVA), protect the eyes from sunlight for 24 hours after taking the drug.
  • Danger — Ultraviolet Radiation: Overexposure can injure eyes/skin.
  • Keep untreated skin protected (clothing or SPF ≥30). Remove jewelry; place hands/feet/elbows flat on the acrylic guard centered over the lamps.
  • For long sessions, use a duty cycle (e.g., 10 minutes on / 10 minutes off) to avoid heat buildup.
  • Never treat more than once in a 24-hour period unless specifically directed by your physician.

4. Setup & Assembly

  1. Select a site: Dry, child-safe area with a grounded outlet; keep away from water.
  2. Unpack: Base and hood may ship separately. Place the base, then seat the hood (arched openings forward) and connect the hood power cord to the base.
  3. Power: Insert the “D”-shaped plug into the rear receptacle, then plug into the wall outlet.
  4. Lamp check: Verify prescribed lamps (e.g., PLL-36W series) are installed per your configuration (UVA, Narrowband UVB, Broadband UVB).
  5. Hood lamps: Use the hood ON/OFF rocker as desired; on combo units the hood is UVA and does not operate during a UVB treatment.

5. Operating Instructions

5B. Digital Timer Controller (keypad)

Unlocking: Press any key → display shows C0dE → press ▲ seven times to show 0007 → press ENTER.

Set a Treatment Time

  1. After unlocking, display reads 00:00. Use ▲ to change the flashing digit; use ◄ to move left. Press ENTER to lock the time (e.g., 01:10).
  2. Press ENTER to begin (indicator lights during treatment). Three beeps signal completion and the final time flashes.
  3. Special functions: Pause with END or ENTER (display “HOLD”); resume with ENTER; end with END twice. Max time is 59:59. If power fails, the controller recalls elapsed time and resumes on restore.
  4. Repeat last time: Use the controller’s recall sequence (if equipped) to quickly repeat the previous setting.
  5. Lamp hours: With lamps off, use the controller’s lamp-hour view sequence to check age.

6. FlexRx™ Prescriptions

  • ClearLink: On wake, the FlexRx screen shows remaining exposures. When 5–10 remain, obtain a refill code; upload via the on-screen Prescription flow.
  • Digital Timer: When exposures are depleted the display shows a refill prompt (e.g., “PASS”). Enter the 4-digit refill code and press ENTER to load the new total.

7. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Between treatments: Disinfect patient-contact surfaces (use non-abrasive wipes or 70% isopropyl alcohol with adequate contact time). Avoid paper towels on acrylic/reflectors.
  • General: Dust monthly; annually remove acrylic to clean lamps/reflectors.
  • Calibration / Output checks: ClearLink guided/dosimetric units—recalibrate/verify periodically (e.g., annually or every ~100 hours) and whenever lamps are replaced. Digital Timer—measure output ~every 100 hours and after lamp changes.
  • Lamp life (typical): UVB ~300 hours; UVA ~500 hours (environment dependent). Replace all lamps at once; then reset lamp hours.
  • Changing lamps: Unplug, remove hood, slide out acrylic, release plastic clasps, press red socket buttons to lift lamps, then reseat new lamps until they snap; reassemble and reset lamp hours.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No power / lamps won’t light: Verify outlet and cord; ensure hood cord is connected; check fuses; confirm correct UVA/UVB selection on combination units.
  • Controller beeps / ends early: You may have reached the programmed time/dose or pressed Pause; resume or re-enter settings.
  • Error codes (timer units): Startup self-tests may show E-codes; persistent errors or “EE” during treatment indicate sensor/current anomalies—contact service.
